Setting practice at home

Setting needs a target more than it needs a partner. A ring at the right height, or a mark on a wall, gives every touch a pass or fail.

Start close

Stand two metres from the target and set it twenty times. Hands up early, a window above the forehead, and push through the legs.

Then move back

Each time you land eight out of ten, take a step back. When the distance feels easy, raise the target.

Add the turn

Toss the ball to yourself from the side, turn to face the target and set. It is closer to a match and it makes the feet work.
